  • What does IP67 mean?

    IP Ratings (Ingress Protection)


    A two-digit number established by the International Electro Technical Commission, is used to provide an Ingress Protection rating to a piece of electronic equipment or to an enclosure for electronic equipment. The protection class after EN60529 are indicated by short symbols that consist of the two code letters IP and a code numeral for the amount of the protection.

    Example: IP67
    The two digits represent different forms of environmental influence:
        The first digit represents protection against ingress of solid objects.
        The second digit represents protection against ingress of liquids.

    The larger the value of each digit, the greater the protection. As an example, a product rated IP54 would be better protected against environmental factors than another similar product rated as IP42.

        Cycle of 30 seconds
        14 - 16 liters per minute
        Water 80°C

    The goal of this test is to simulate pressure cleaning conditions on a plant floor. In the test fixture, the switches were exposed to a water jet of 80 - 100 bar at a temperature of 80 °C.The duration of each cleaning cycle was 30 seconds. The test was performed with a spray nozzle located at defined angles and at a distance of 10 - 15 cm from the sensor.The high protection rating guarantees absolute ingress-resistance, even in applications subject to frequent cleaning processes, e.g. in the food industry.

    Test conditions:
        Test with fan nozzle
        Test unit on turntable (5 revolutions/minute)
        Spray angles 0°, 30°, 60° and 90°
        Distance of nozzle to test unit 100 - 150 mm
        Spray quantity 14 to 16 litres/min.
        Water pressure about 8,000 - 10,000 kPa at +(80 +/- 5)°C with a duration of 30 seconds per position.
        Water aimed at the housing with increased pressure from each direction must not have any damaging effect.

  • What's the Ingress Protection Rating (IP Code) for Evensphere's waterproof connectors?

    All Evensphere's multi-pin rugged waterproof connectors are rated to IP68 but we also supply other rated connectors, such as IP67, IP66, IP65 etc., to use for a different purpose. The waterproof connectors have panel mount, female & male with cable installable or molded, adaptor etc. for customer to choose according to the equipments design.


  • Are all products manufactured by Evensphere in accordance with RoHS compliant process?

    Affirm, no matter SFP cage / connectors, Modular Jack, or different form factor or format of Optical transceivers provided by Evensphere are all manufactured in accordance with RoHS compliant process.


  • Do Evensphere’s products have warranty?

    Yes, we provide 1 year warranty for our products in general, but for some products, we have 2 ~ 3 years warranty if required.


  • Does different form factor or format of Evensphere’s optical transceivers cover wide range data rate?

    Evensphere’s optical transceivers with different form factor and format, such as SFP (mini GBIC), XFP, SFP+, GBIC, BWDM, CWDM, DWDM, cover wide range data rate from fast Ethernet, 1000 Base, 10G Ethernet, or higher per request.


  • Why Evensphere asks our clients about the model name of network switch, Ethernet card, or Network Interface Card (NIC) used?

    Evensphere’s optical transceivers are compatible with Cisco, HP 3Com, Dell Force10, Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Juniper, Extreme, ATI, ZyXEL, Brocade-Foundry etc., so once we know the networking equipments you are using, we could provide the 100% compatible products. Alternatively, we may ask you about the model number of the original optical transceivers, and then we can also provide compatible products.
