SFP Cage & Connector

The rugged metal SFP cages with SFP connectors include single-port and multi-port (ganged and stacked) systems. Ganged designs offer increased card-edge density over multiple single port SFP cages. All of Evensphere's SFP cages used in conjunction with SFP 20 pin SMT connectors which follow the Small Form-factor Pluggable MSA standard. With option of integrated light pipe assemblies, EMI containment tab and gasket, and thermal solution, our SFP cage and connectors allow users to reduce manufacturing time and cost.
The Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP+) cages and connectors are designed for high-density port applications. Because it can replace up to 4 standard SFP+ systems, the greater port density saves overall system cost.

Single Port & Ganged SFP System

The ganged SFP cage and connector system allows high density port designs to maximize the horizontal I/O space. The lateral port-to-port spacing is minimized to 14.25mm. Port configurations include 1x2, 1x4, 1x6 with or without lightpipe assemblies and enhanced EMI finger.

Stacked SFP System

The stacked SFP system is the dual row integrated SFP cage and connector which allows OEM to maximize port density because it offers higher density at the card edge. Evensphere supports 2x1, 2x2, 2x4, 2x6 configurations with or without light pipe assemblies and heat sink.

QSFP+ System

QSFP+ cage and connector system is designed for high-density port applications. Because it can replace up to 4 standard SFP+ systems, the greater port density saves overall system cost, space and power.

QSFP+ cages feature enhanced EMI springs to effectively contain EMI between both cage-to-bezel and cage-to-module interfaces. Ganged cages are available for additional density gains. All cages use press-fit technology for board termination, and can be used in belly-to-belly (double-sided) applications. All QSFP cages will accept copper cables, optical cables, and transceiver modules.

Four-channel package and supports speed up to 10Gbs per channel
Developed within the QSFP MSA (Multi-Source Agreement)
